Still Learning The Game

Dancing: The beginning

Originally, I started dancing when I was in middle school. I used to attend Icahn Charter School in the Bronx. Luckily, my school was one of the few schools that offered an afterschool program called NYJTL.

Sportswise, the Bronx didn't offer a lot of options. It was either tennis, basketball, or dance. I'm not really cut out for basketball or tennis so dance was my only option.

Rugby: The Next Chapter

It wasn't until I transfered into Harvey as a freshman that I started to play rugby. Located in Katonah, Harvey has mutiple field spaces that were impossible to have in the Bronx.

  • Hi, my name is Nairobi Jones. Born in the Bronx, I didn't have a lot of options for sports so I stuck with dance. When I was in 7th grade, I got into Prep 9. This led to me getting into the Harvey School. The Harvey School is a private school located in Katonah which prides itself of its multiple sports team. In the spring term of freshman year, I was able to join the Rugby team. lthough I'm doing something new, I couldn't give up dance. I decided to play rugby for afterschool and join the dance company during school.
